Highlight of the day!

What is going on in our country? *sigh* The thought of fatal viruses surrounds us, dense in air n in any minute our future could change totally scared me. I used to read a novel, Year of Wonders~ it is about a village called Eyam been destructed by Plague. Ergh! The virus been brought by an immigrant to the village..only one man..killed over 200 people. Fortunately the villagers took initiative by isolating themselves from outside world to stop the spreading. Today when I was going through NST, the news did recall me of my reading. I hope the sequence would not be the same as we have better technology today. It was back on 1666 n right now we are in 2009.

ð Influenza A H1N1(selsema babi) had arrived in Malaysia! I got shocked this morning as listening to the news. A Malaysia student who had returned from his holiday in Newark, US on 13rd May had been hold on to Hosp Sg Buloh. He is tested positive for the virus! OMG the virus has breach our country~~~~ The case has made our country the 36th country to be affected by those mortal virus. Another man also had been quarantined at Sultan Ahmad Shah Hosp in aware of the virus. He developed symptoms similar to those of influenza A H1N1 following his return from Hatyai two days ago.

ð Leptospirosis outbreaks in Bukit Mertajam. This potentially serious bacterial illness however not much life threatens compared to virus H1N1. 26 cases had been reported and a poor illegal Myanmar worker from Juru detention centre died on Tuesday. He showed symptoms of pedal oedema (fluid accumulation in leg), fever, decreased urine output, constipation and lethargy. It is believed that rat urine was the cause of the outbreak. It is common in tropical countries. Some of the signs of the illness that we should take note are>> fever, headache, chills, nausea, vomiting, eyes inflammation and muscle ache .
